The Single Girder EOT Cranes travels along rails installed at the top of the crane runway or Gantry Girders. The crane primarily consists of bridge girders made of rolled parts, including I beams and U beams and fabricated box sections. Two end carriages, each with a pair of wheels, carry the bridge girder. The motor gearbox units drive the wheels. Below the bridge girder, a wire rope hoist is suspended. The crane can be controlled either by a stationary station suspended from the wire rope hoist or by a radio remote control. According to the customer's preferences, the pendent station may be made to move independently of hoist movement.
The rope drum on the wire rope hoist is made of seamless tubing. On the rope drum, grooves are machined to provide adequate protection for the wire rope. Wire rope jumps out of tracks because of the cast iron rope band and guide. The hoisting drive system consists of a motor coupled to an oil-lubricated spur / helical gearbox, which drives the rope drum. In the case of a power outage, an electronic fail safe brake stops the load from being accidentally lowered. A limit switch is included to prevent the hook block from being hoisted too far. A second limit switch can be added in order to avoid the hook block from being lowered too far.
The hoist's cross movement is accomplished by the movement of wheels assisted on the beam/box flange. An electric motor-gearbox unit provides the drive to the wheels. As an added bonus, a fail-safe brake and a limit switch are issued, as requested by the customer.
Festoon cable system provides power to the wire rope hoist. Cable hangers or cable trolleys help the versatile cables, which travel on either taught wire or enclosed C track, depending on the customer's preference.
